Ingredients:
2 sticks of butter
1 pack of kataif dough
2 cups of shredded walnuts
Syrup:
3 cups of confectioner’s sugar
3 cups of water
Few drops of lemon juice
Process:
- Defrost the dough in room temperature for couple of hours.
- Melt the butter on the stovetop. As soon as it is liquid, take it off the stove before it gets brown.
- Shred the dough with melted butter. Put everything in a bowl and work it so that it is nicely coated with butter.
- Divide the dough into two. Place one half onto standard cookie sheet. Spread the walnuts in the middle, and spread the other half on top.
- Put it in preheated oven (375 F degrees)
- Mix sugar and water in a pan and boil it. After it boils, put the lemon juice and let it boil for about five minutes.
- Keep the kadayif in oven until it is golden brown. Take it out.
- While both the kadayif and the syrup are hot, spread the syrup nicely on kadayif.
- If you have to use a glass pyrex cup, wait until kadayif (xor syrup) gets cooled down.
- Serve it preferably with whipped cream after it is cooled down.
- Afiyet olsun…(Bon appetite)
